Talk “From smells to spooks: an international journey”

Juliette Bird, Head of Counter-Terrorism at NATO

18 June 2013, 19.00hrs

The President and Committee of the Oxford Society of Belgium are pleased to announce that Juliette Bird, Head of Counter-Terrorism at NATO, has agreed to give us a talk entitled ‘From smells to spooks: an international journey’.  It may not be as exciting as “Skyfall”, but none-the-less is a fascinating and important topic.

This talk will take place on Tuesday 18th June at our habitual venue, the conference room of the Eglise des Dominicains de Bruxelles, Avenue de la Renaissance, 40, 1000 Bruxelles (near Merode metro) and be followed by dinner in a local restaurant.

The proceedings will begin at 7pm with a welcoming drink, the talk is scheduled to start around 7.30 and will be followed by questions and answers until 9pm.

Attendance at the talk is free for subscribing members of the Oxford & Cambridge Societies (€5 at the door for others), and you are welcome to bring a spouse or partner if you wish.  You can choose whether or not to continue to the restaurant afterwards, the dinner normally comes in at about €35-40 per head including wine, details will follow nearer the time.

Please reply to me by Thursday 13th indicating if you’re likely to be interested in coming to the dinner.

I look forward to greeting many of you for this, our last discussion of the summer season.

Best regards
