Film Club - 30th October 2012 - “James Bond: Skyfall”

The Oxbridge Film Circle of Belgium is delighted to invite you to join us at a screening of the new James Bond film “Skyfall” at UGC De Brouckère in Brussels on the evening of Tuesday 30th October.

Skyfall is the upcoming twenty-third spy film in the Eon Productions James Bond series.  It features Daniel Craig's third performance as James Bond, and Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva, the film's villain. The film is directed by the Cantabrigian Sam Mendes.  Should any further encouragement be required, the stunning Naomie Harris plays a leading role as a glamorous but lethal Bond girl after graduating from Cambridge University with a degree in Political Science.

Film Synopsis:

“After an operation in Istanbul ends in disaster, James Bond is missing and presumed to be dead, and the identities of every active undercover MI6 agent are leaked onto the internet. In the aftermath, questions are raised over M's ability to run the Secret Service, and she becomes the subject of a government review over her handling of the situation. When the service itself is attacked, Bond's sudden reappearance gives M the pretext she needs to seek out Raoul Silva, a dangerous villain claiming a personal connection to both of them – but as he follows a trail from London to the South China Sea, Bond soon finds his loyalty to M challenged over secrets from her past…”

Logistics:

We will aim to attend a screening of the film at around 7:30pm on Tuesday 30th October (to be confirmed when further details are released by UGC).  After the film anyone who wishes to continue the evening will head to a local brasserie…

Due to enormous excitement we expect large crowds in the opening week, therefore please confirm your intention to join our group as early as possible by emailing Emma Pearson at E_E_Pearson@Yahoo.co.uk.

Whilst you can buy your own ticket and try to meet us there, if you sign up to participate in our group we will:

a) buy tickets in advance to get everyone in quickly - we'll stay at the entrance (the point they take your ticket) until 5 minutes before the screening begins;

b) work with the early arrivals to annex a block of seats in the theatre so we can try to all sit together;

If you sign up with us and decide not to show up without cancelling with due warning we may hold you to pay up if we were unable to dispose of your ticket. Please bring exact / near exact change - tickets cost 8 euros per person.

Final details and logistics will be emailed shortly to all those who confirm their interest by email, or alternatively by signing up for the film at the Autumn Reception on Wednesday 24th October at the Hotel de Ville in the Grand Place.

We look forward to seeing you there,

The Oxbridge Film Circle
