Gender and Sex: Destiny or Show? 19:30hrs, Weds 28 April

Influential modern theories of gender argue that gender is essentially a performance in which roles are acquired insensibly thence enacted without reflection, closer to the practice of ones mother tongue than the studied theatre of diplomatic protocol.

Jane Haile (Girton), anthropologist, Gender expert and consultant, drawing upon her travels as UN Gender adviser to places as diverse an Thailand, India, Africa and Egypt will illuminate, surprise and debunk in exploration of this theme.
