President of Trinity, Oxford “Conversations with Milosevic & other war criminals”.

The Committee of the Oxford Society are pleased to announce that the President of Trinity College Oxford, Sir Ivor Roberts, has kindly agreed to come and speak to the Societies and members of Trinity College resident over here on the subject "Conversations with Milošević and other war criminals".

Sir Ivor Roberts KCMG was sworn in as the twenty-seventh President of Trinity on 20th September 2006 having retired two days earlier from Rome after a thirty-eight year diplomatic career culminating in three Ambassadorial appointments in what was then called Yugoslavia, Ireland and Italy.  He had previously served in Lebanon, France , Luxembourg, Australia, Vanuatu and Spain.  His valedictory dispatch from Rome led to the practice of such widely distributed documents being henceforth banned.  He is working on two books: one on the Balkans (and on Milošević in particular), the other on the theory and practice of diplomacy which he hopes will not be placed on the Index.  He is a member of the Council of the British School of Archaeology, History and Fine Arts at Rome, a Patron of the Venice in Peril Fund, an honorary Fellow of Keble College and has spent a year as a Senior Associate Member of St Antony’s Colege.
