“First Oxbridge Brussels Career Hub” - Reception - Thursday 21st March 2013 from 7:30pm; Central Brussels

We have the pleasure of inviting you to a very different type of event: a reception to welcome students from our Alma Mater who are planning to come and work in Brussels.

The Alumni Offices of Cambridge and Oxford Universities have been in touch to let us know that a group of their students (about 40 students and careers services representatives) will be visiting Brussels to attend the European Internships Fair on 22.03, organised by LSE / Sciences Po. We have decided, together with the Oxford Society, to take this opportunity to organise a drinks evening, so that students can meet our society members, ask questions about life and working in Brussels and generally get to know us better before potentially moving here to follow their careers.

The reception will be held on Thursday 21.03 from 7:30pm

in Scott’s Bar (www.scottsbar.be) 2, Rue Montagne aux Herbes Potageres, where we have booked a private level to ensure a suitable environment for us to discuss in comfort. The venue is very central with easy nearby parking and the nearest metro stop is Gare Centrale.

We would like to encourage you to attend and share your pearls of wisdom with our visiting students, in particular, if you supervise or mentor interns as part of your professional life. As our Society is rich in members from a wide range of professions and backgrounds, we hope that many career paths will be represented.

A free drink for all attendees and some light buffet snacks will be provided. If you wish to attend, please reply to me no later than Friday 15th March, so that we can plan the catering. We would also appreciate if you could let us know your general field of expertise (law, translator, finance etc.) to enable us to guide students towards relevant society members.

With thanks in advance for your participation, we are looking forward to seeing you there.
